We don't want your data.

The short version

There are no accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to. Your screen travels directly from your Mac to your tablet over your own network or a cable — it never passes through, and is never stored on, any server we operate. We run no analytics in either app, and this site loads nothing from anyone else.

The Mac host and the tablet app

Wing Display captures your Mac's screen and sends it to your tablet. That connection is made directly between your two devices — on your local network, over your tablet's hotspot, or down a USB cable — and is encrypted in transit using TLS. Screen contents, pointer movement, touches and pen strokes exist only on your Mac and your tablet, for as long as the session lasts. Nothing is written to disk by us, and nothing is transmitted anywhere else.

Neither app contains analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising, or any third-party software development kit that collects data. The latency and statistics readouts some users may have seen are developer tools compiled into internal builds only; they are not present in the apps we ship, and they never transmitted anything in any case.

The permissions macOS asks for are used only for what they say. Screen recording is what lets us capture the picture to send. Accessibility is what lets your taps and pen become clicks and strokes on the Mac. Local network access is how your tablet finds your Mac without you typing an IP address. We do not use any of them for anything else.

This website

This site sets no cookies and loads no third-party resources. Every file it serves — the stylesheet, the script, the typeface, the images — comes from this domain, so visiting it tells no advertising network, analytics vendor, or content delivery network anything about you. There is no tracking script to block, because there is no tracking script.

The site is served by Cloudflare, our hosting provider, which records requests in its own server logs — including IP addresses — exactly as every web host on the internet does. Those logs belong to the hosting platform and are governed by its policies. We do not receive them, we cannot query them for individual visitors, and we do not store them.

What we do see is a site-wide count of how many requests the site served and how much data it transferred. That is an aggregate number with no visitor detail in it whatsoever, and it is the only measurement we have. It tells us whether people are finding the product; it cannot tell us anything about you.

Where other companies are involved

When the tablet app becomes available through Google Play, downloading and installing it is a transaction between you and Google, under Google's privacy policy, not ours. The same is true of any future purchase made through a Google or Apple payment system: those companies handle the payment and we never see your payment details. Downloading the Mac host from this site involves no app store and no payment provider — though, as described above, Cloudflare serves the file and records the request in its own logs, exactly as it does for every other page here.

Your data rights

Rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data depend on there being personal data to act on. We hold none — no account record, no profile, no usage history, no mailing list you did not write to us to join. If you email us, we have your message and your email address for as long as it takes to answer you, and you may ask us to delete that at any time.

Wing Display is not directed at children, and since it collects nothing, it collects nothing from them either.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Should we ever want to collect something we do not collect today, we will say so here before we start, not after.
